As a cloud based provider, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that we get asked this question a lot!
Online Security, commonly known as Cyber Security is featured in the press at least once a day.
Whether you are a business that is afraid of your data being compromised or an individual that is worried about identity fraud, you shouldn’t let this fear stop you from embracing technology and the benefits it can bring to you and your business.
Before we consider how secure cloud based systems are it’s probably best telling you what the term cloud based means. You’ve probably come across the phrase ‘in the cloud’ but I’m afraid to say it’s not quite literally stored in that fluffy white cloud (or more commonly a grey cloud) above our heads.
Cloud based: a term that refers to applications, services or resources made available to users on demand via the Internet from a cloud computing provider’s server.

Just as EliteParks is in the ‘cloud’ so are recognisable names such as Dropbox, Salesforce and Netflix. Forbes recently wrote an article about why more companies should be embracing cloud computing, the full article can be read here.
“For years, many companies have relied on internal servers or local computer hard drives to store and digitise their information, which can be costly to maintain. In addition, many small companies lack the internal expertise to manage and troubleshoot the technology. A growing number of small businesses are moving to cloud-based systems to better organize their operations and to improve productivity.”
Speaking to Forbes, Suzette Flemming, an accountant and small-business expert said ‘it can still be a challenge to persuade some businesses to move to the cloud—in part because of security concerns.’
Here at Elite Dynamics we offer both options of being either cloud based or on-premise, which essentially means that EliteParks is installed and runs on computers on your own premises. We understand that you may already have on premise servers in place and would like to remain in control of integrations such as access controls, EPOS systems, telephone systems and your in house report tools. The team at Elite Dynamics will be able to help guide you to the right choice for your holiday business.
