Name: Linda Seraj
Job role: Lead Software Developer in Business Central
Where are you from/where do you live?
I have lived in many places in the UK, but I currently live in Aylesbury.
What were your previous roles before joining Elite Dynamics?
In my early career, I was a scientist at the University of Manchester but re-trained as a software developer in Microsoft C++. As I was keen to keep using Microsoft products, I took a role as a developer in Dynamics Nav/Business Central in 2008 and have had similar roles ever since. During my career, I’ve gained knowledge in accounting principles and ERP systems, as well as extensive programming experience in Microsoft Nav/Business Central.
What is your role at Elite Dynamics and what does it encompass?
I implement customisations, enhancements and upgrades for Elite Dynamics’ customers who use EliteParks. I also have to keep up-to-date with the latest changes and developments Microsoft are making to Business Central, through knowledge sharing with my colleagues and attending courses.
What specialist knowledge do you bring to the Elite Team?
I have a very good knowledge of Business Central, having worked with it for 13 years. I also have a logical mind and am good at finding solutions to programming problems.
What do you enjoy most about your job role?
Coding solutions that solve customer problems, or make their day-to-day processes more efficient.
What strengths do you feel you bring to the Elite Dynamics team?
Knowledge, teamwork and a willingness to learn new things.
Do you have any experience in the Holiday Park industry?
Elite Dynamics is my first experience of working in the holiday parks industry, although I have stayed in many parks on holiday with my family. I am enjoying getting to learn all about how holiday parks operate – I am now getting a ‘behind the scenes’ view of what running a holiday park involves!
What do you like most about Elite Dynamics as an employer?
I like the way Elite Dynamics values its employees and their wellbeing, and has a path for each of our personal and professional development. Since I joined Elite 3 months ago I have already been on 3 training courses, including Power BI, which is an area I was looking to develop my skills in.
Explain a typical day working for Elite Dynamics?
My role has been very varied since I joined Elite Dynamics, which I really like. I have been involved in a few internal projects, such as an internal upgrade to the latest version of BC and making sure the Elite Parks code is compatible in the Cloud/SaaS environment. I have also used my Power BI course knowledge to create some management reports in Power BI.
What do you enjoy about your job most?
My other colleagues at Elite are lovely and very helpful. There is a great team spirit about getting the job done well and on schedule.
What you enjoy doing when not at work?
I love to paint and draw in my spare time, although I do not get as much spare time as I would like with a family to look after and a lively beagle to walk 3 times a day!
What’s your drink of choice in the office?
Coffee in the morning, and tea in the afternoon.
Will you be having a biscuit to go with that drink?
I try to be good and not snack, but yes I probably would!
